Communities across the west have deep relationships to the land and centuries of commitment to conserving ecosystems. Our public lands were established and founded through the forced removal and continued oppression of Indigenous people and have historically excluded the presence and voices of marginalized identities.

Rocky Mountain Consulting recognizes and honors the original Indigenous Peoples of the land that we now live and work upon. The land on which we live our lives is part of the ancient homeland and traditional hunting, gathering, and ceremonial territory of the Arapaho, Cheyenne, Crow, Shoshone and Ute peoples. Other Native American tribes that passed through and honored these Wyoming lands include the Bannock, Lakota, Comanche, Dakota, Kiowa and Pawnee. We recognize, honor, and respect all these nations as the traditional stewards of the land. Today, Shoshone and Arapaho tribes continue to live here and are due respect and sovereignty. We endeavor to inform ourselves of contemporary issues that these tribes face, and advocate for the original inhabitants of this land.
